Biography
Dr. Robert Dorsey was born in 1779 in Anne Arundel, Maryland to parents Edward Dorsey and Sarah Cumming. He married Phebe Myers on 20 Apr 1825 in Kentucky. Children: Caroline S, Martha J, Elizabeth M L, Deborah A. He died in 1848 in Hardin, Kentucky.
"On 12 Feb 1816, on motion of Edward Dorsey, Wm. McElroy and Robert Dorsey and Wm. Ayers made suit against his sister Deborah Welch in the matter of her deceased husband's estate settlement.
Deed bearing date 8 Dec 1817, Edward Dorsey sold to Robert Dorsey for the sum of $2.00 111 acres located on both sides of Beechfork, adjoining Johnsey Dorsey land.
On 18 Aug 1824, Washington, Kentucky, Robert joined with others including Richard, Johnsey, Anderson Jefferies and Ann Dorsey to gain adminstration of the Edward Dorsey Estate.
In a deed dated 19 Feb 1825, Robert with his brothers and sisters sell a tract of land from Edward Dorsey Estate.
In the May 1834 term of court Dr. Robert Dorsey made report of the final settlement of the Edward Dorsey estate."
