Biography

Abijah Douglas is a member of Clan Douglas.

Abijah and family were Quaker. He was born at Brunswick, Maine in 1796, the son of John Douglas and Judith Collins.

He married Phebe B Estes at Durham, now Maine, on 12 Mar 1816. They were the parents of three known children:

  • Elvira Jane Douglass b. 31 Dec 1816 @ Hebron, Maine, d. 6 Sep 1886 @ Jay, Maine;
  • William Estes Douglass b. 15 May 1819 @ Dixfield, Maine, d. 23 Mar 1903 @ Dixfield;
  • Rhoda Coombs Douglass b. 10 Jul 1821 @ Dixfield, Maine, d. 27 Apr 1905 @ Brunswick, Maine.

Abijah died at Dixfield, Maine in 1838 and is buried at the Severy Hill Cemetery, East Dixfield, Maine.
