William E. Dragoo - Temperance Dickerson
William E. Dragoo was born at Richmond, Virginia 1747. [No I expect he was born on Staten Island, New York, Wikipedia says "The [Staten Island] borough is coextensive with Richmond County, and until 1975 was the Borough of Richmond[, New York]."[1]
His parents were Peter Dragoo and Mary Marlett.
He married Temperance Dickerson 1777 at Harrison [County}, Virginia. Temperance Dickerson was born . . . Harrison, Virginia [in] 1756 daughter of Joshua Dickerson and Martha Whetten. (This too is almost certainly incorrect. Wikipedia says, "European-American trappers visited the area that is now Harrison County as early as the 1760s. Some traded with the Native Americans of the area. The Virginia Colony claimed the area as part of its vast Augusta County. Settler Daniel Davisson claimed the land upon which present-day Clarksburg, Harrison County was formed in 1773; it was then defined as part of Monongalia County, Virginia."

I have Temperance Dickerson Dragoo as being born in Richmond, VA. All of the children I have birth places for except Elizabeth Ann and Benjamin Franklin was Staten Island. Their sister, Mary died in Winchester, Va and Elizabeth Ann was born in Winchester so probably a good indicator. Thank you for setting this straight that it was Statin Island's Richmond County.
