Biography

Lillian was born in 1929. She is the daughter of Ralph Dragoon and Audrey Pombrio.

Born on Sept. 12, 1929 in West Chazy, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Audrey (Pombrio) Dragoon.

Lillian graduated in 1947 from Chazy Central Rural School and went on to attend Plattsburgh Teachers College and Champlain School of Business. On Jan. 15, 1955, Lillian married Cornelius K. Kiernan at St. Joseph’s Church in West Chazy. She was employed by Glens Falls Hospital for many years until her retirement.

Lillian’s most special moments were spent with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed antiquing, sports and spending time with many of her dear friends.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Cornelius, Lillian was predeceased by her brother, Edward Dragoon; sisters-in-law, Lucille Dragoon and Ann Dragoon; and a brother-in-law, Roger Duffina.

She is survived by her children, Audrey (Jeff) Rumpf of Queensbury, Kevin (Kathie) Kiernan of Cary, North Carolina, Nancy (Mark) Zurlo of Glens Falls, Mary (Fran) Bushey of West Chazy and Neil (Lori) Kiernan of Hudson Falls; her grandchildren, Alicia (Billy) Matiernan of Raleigh, North Carolina, Jennifer Kiernan of Raleigh, North Carolina, Brad Urhausen (fiancé) of Raleigh, North Carolina, Adrienne Zurlo, Jordan Zurlo, Devin Zurlo and Morgan Zurlo, all of Glens Falls, Isaac Rumpf of Queensbury, Thomas Kiernan, Neil Kiernan and Annie Kiernan, all of Hudson Falls and Hilary (Randy) Cumm of Chazy; her brother, Gordon (Anna) Dragoon; her sisters, Ann Duffina, Kay Olin and Linda (Bill) Mason; along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 5, at Singleton Sullivan Potter Funeral Home, 407 Bay Road, Queensbury.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 6, at St. Mary’s Church, 62 Warren St., Glens Falls.

Burial will be held in the spring at St. Mary’s Cemetery, South Glens Falls.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to High Peaks Hospice, 454 Glen St., Glens Falls, NY 12801.
