Biography

William Drake was born in about 1841 in St Pancras, Middlesex, England.

In 1851 William Drake (age 9) lived at Wilson Place in St Pancras with his mother Hannah (52, Nurse), brother Thomas (16, Labourer Bricklayer's), sister Hannah (14), and niece Catherine Slack (0).[1]

William Drake married Louisa Bess [Louisa Biss] on 14 Apr 1861 at St Giles without Cripplegate, London.[2] The marriage was registered in East London in the second quarter of the year.[3]

William and Louisa had seven children:

  1. Catherine Anne Drake (1862-1865)
  2. William James Drake (1864-1941) [his birth was registered as William James Drake, but he went by James]
  3. William Charles Drake (1866-1874)
  4. Hannah "Ann" Louisa Drake (1868-)
  5. Catherine "Kate" Emma Drake (1870-1874)
  6. Rosina Drake (1872-)
  7. Thomas William Drake (1875-1875)

In 1861 William Drake (age 19, Bricklayers Labourer) lived at Wilson Place in St Pancras with his mother Anna (60) and wife Louisa (21).[4]

In 1871 William Drake (age 29, Painter) lived at Gray's Inn Lane in St Pancras with his wife Louisa (31) and four children: James (7), William (4), Ann (2), and Kate (0).[5]

William's wife passed away in 1875.
