According to Futhey and Cope's History of Chester County, Pennsylvania, the widow Katherine Duens Treviller immigrated to America in 1699 with several young children. It is said that Katherine Treviller paid for the passage of her family to America by indenturing her youngest daughter, Katherine, to the captain of the ship, The Josiah and Betty. There is supposedly a record at Chester County, Pennsylvania dated May 9, 1699, in which Captain Jonas Howell sold this indenture to a man named John Hood.[3]

There is some question of a probate document of a man named Thomas Treviller in Chester County, Pennsylvania dated 1736. Katherine Treviller did have a son named Thomas Treviller. He had remained in Cornwall with his wife Elizabeth Williams Treviller in the area of Redruth. However, he may have followed his mother and siblings to America later.

More research is welcomed for the Treviller and Dewens families!
