Biography

Richard Dunham was born about 1565 in the south part of England. He passed away about 1624.

Some of the published information on Richard Dunham and his son John Dunham has error. This family is not descended from the landed gentry family with the same name. Richard Dunham's will mentions his son John. John is to receive a legacy when he returns. John was living as an exiled religious dissident at Leiden at the time and later removed to the Pilgrim Colony at Plymouth, which is now in the United States.[1]

Editing Comments:

Removed Elizabeth Wentworth and Ralph Dunham as parents of Richard Dunham.[2]

Because these inaccurate parents keep getting reattached, we have project-protected this profile.

Removed Janet Bromily as wife - She seems to be the wife of Thomas Dunham. [3]

I'll remove the Singletary as OLN. Thanks for catching this.

This person is not a Singletary. Looks like confusion between this person and Singletary-4.

Removing Sir Ralph Dunham of Scrooby, Nottinghamshire, as parent. That is a false association carried over from the Dunham Genealogy Fraud.

Is there any evidence for Richard's parents?

Dunham-1399 and Dunham-177 appear to represent the same person because: Same person please merge
Dunham-1399 and Dunham-177 are not ready to be merged because: Dunham 1399 shows a spouse of Susannah Cook with child Francis born 1599. Dunham-177 shows spouse Agness married 1579-1623. Conflict of two spouses in 1599 when Francis was born.
