Born around 1704, Robert came to America with his family in 1717 and settled in Brunswick, in what is now Maine. He became a master shipbuilder.
In 1742, while crossing the river between Brunswick and Topsham, he and his brother Andrew were shot dead by Indians; one of them fell in the river, the other lived until the next morning. Both were buried in the old Fort George graveyard in Brunswick, Maine.
