Biography

James Dutton was born in Billerica, Middlesex County, Massachusetts May 5, 1721. He was the son of Thomas Dutton and Hannah Burge Dutton.[1][2]

James was married on June 28, 1750 in Westford, Middlesex County, to Rebecca Hildreth,[3] daughter of James Hildreth and Dorothy Prescott Hildreth.[4] [5] James and Rebecca had at least the following children:[3]

  • Samuel, b. 3 March 1750/1
  • Lucy, b. 17 Nov 1752
  • Rebecca, b. 3 May 1755
  • Esther, b. 11 March 1758
  • James, b. 21 Feb 1757
  • Jesse, b. 1 March 1762
  • Hildreth (son), b. 9 June 1764

James Dutton died August 14, 1807 in Littleton, Middlesex, Massachusetts, and is buried at the Old Burying Ground in Littleton.[1] You can see a picture of his gravestone at FIndAGrave.
