Samuel Henry Dykeman was born 10 April 1836 in New York. Samuel's father was R. A. Dykeman and his mother was Nancy Preblee. Both of Samuel's parents were born in Scotland.^[1]

Samuel H Dykeman married Phebe Ann Wren 14 May 1862 in Boone, Missouri. ^[2]
