NOTE: This ancestor's identity derives from the newsletter "Edwards Heirs" published in the 1920s. The newsletter was created by a number of American Edwards descendants who were involved in the "Edwards Fortune Scam" that was thrown out of court in the 1990s. While there is a "William Edwards" who died in Tennessee in 1808, his birth and parentage are unknown. There are no known original sources that document the origins of "William Harrison Edwards" and all genealogists are encouraged to do their own research. Who he really was is unknown. He is believed to be the William Edwards who married a Polly Cramer/Creamer/Chermer in Orange Co., NC in 1747. If that is true he may be related to the John Edwards (c.1700-c.1801) of Orange County who is said to have lived about 100 years. This John Edwards was from near Petersburg, VA. http://www.moonzstuff.com/edwards/john1710.html
