Hi Sean, thank you so much for your very informative email re William Edwards (1615-1673) https://www.WikiTree.com/wiki/Edwards-3764 and presumed spouse
Dorothy (1616 - abt. 1673) (possibly Withers https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Withers-493; + 3 Contemporay Doorothy's spouses of a UK William Edwards-- Bolton; Loader and Cutler). I apologize for my delay in responding due to other Family commitments this month; but do appreciate your time and efforts.
I would like to suggest that we combine our research to see if we can finalize this group as much as possible (and invite other PM's to join in if interested).
FYI - Several years ago I did find a Withers family located in Old Parish Registers (OPR's) for Hagley Hall and Hopton Castle/North Petherton/Glamorgan Wales; but no marriage info (records were very fragmented; so possible loss/etc or marriage vs maiden names; although it did lend circumstantial evidence to Anthony Christensen's Research re William (1615-1673) of Jamestown https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/458981?availability=Family%20History%20Library.
(My research -- concurs with 3+ children + your comments and a prelim Wiki Review looks like some merges (date/place errors) may be in order here to get the 1 Profile Per Person objective in place.
Again, Thank You and let me know what you think or find out.

As a PROVEN descendant of William Edwards (1615-1673) [Jamestown Society Member #6453] any ancestors as to the Family of William Edwards is pure speculation. I have contacted Achievements in Canterbury, UK with a copy of his great-grandson, Isaac Edwards', Coat of Arms. Hopefully they will be able to tell me where the COA was issued and to whom. This would give a substantial clue to the father and family of William Edwards. William Edwards also did not come here prior to his wife, Dorothy in 1635. This was a different William who came aboard the Merchants Hope. The William Edwards who died in the Good Friday Massacre 1624 was NOT a relative. He was a mate on board the Unity before being a servant on George Sandy's Plantation.
Can you help by working on these profiles to get the most correct information in place and/or transferred to the "correct William" with the appropriate sources.?
It would be great to get any of these finalized. They have all been at issue for quite some time and there seems to be quite a lot of co-mingled and mis-information.
The City of Glagmorgnashire, Wales denies the ever existence of Edwards Hall. Therefore, William Edwards, Burgess of Surry Virginia, can not be pinned down to Glagmorganshire, Wales for his birth place.
William Edwards, Burgess of Surry, ...... Virginia General Assembly records show he died in 1673. His son William died in 1697. HIs son William married Ann Sumner
William Edwards did not marry Dorothy in 1641 in James City, Virginia. According to the Cavaliers and Pioneers, Abstracts of Virginia Land Patents, Volume 1, 1623-1666, p. 176..."William Edwards & Rice Davis, 1080 acs., James City Co. July 10, 1648, Along sunken marsh, Trans. of 22 pers., William Edwards, Dorothy, his wife, Robert Wilson, Thomas White, Thomas Wombwell, Tho. Bryan, Christopher Weston..."
Therefore, William could not have married Dorothy in 1641 in James City as he wasn't in Jametowne until 1648. Also, there is no proof that Dorothy's maiden name was "Withers".
Edwards-4355 and Edwards-3764 appear to represent the same person because: Re-initiate Merge -- Represent same William m. Dorothy

Edwards-4355 and Edwards-3764 are not ready to be merged because: I will approve a merge of the profiles, they seem to indicate the same folks. I do not want to do the merge with an imported profile. David N. Talley
Edwards-4355 and Edwards-3764 appear to represent the same person because: These two profiles are the same person. Birth date and parents and brother Robert are the same. Need to merge.
Please confirm any information separately from online trees, (this goes for any ancestor, but especially for the Edwards family from Glamorgan, Wales). It seem these trees may originate with a fictitious IGI user submission. See: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.edwards/10292.1/mb.ashx

Surry County Court disposition in 1658 by William Edwards... he gives his age as 43 years old. Proving he was born in 1615.
Therefore, William could not have married Dorothy in 1641 in James City as he wasn't in Jametowne until 1648. Also, there is no proof that Dorothy's maiden name was "Withers".
