Magdalena was born on December 3, 1866 in the village of Hoffnungstal in the Akkermann district of the Bessarabian area and Black Sea region of South Russia to Johannes Ehret and Magdalena Graff. She was the last of their 6 children. Magdalena was baptized on December 4, 1866 and confirmed on April 5, 1881.[1]

On Decemeber 9, 1888, at the age of 22, Magdalena married Leonhard Berreth (1865-1953).[2]

Immigration
On June 15, 1889, at the age of 23, Magdalena and her husband arrived in New York aboard the S.S. Saale traveling from Bremen, Germany.[3]
Death
On February 1, 1923, at the age of 56, Magdalena passed away in Isabel, SD.
