Martha (18) married John Walter Cotton (20) (born in 1827 in Louisa, Lawrence, Kentucky; son of Henry Jobe Cotton and Mary Ellen (UNKNOWN) Cotton) on May 28, 1848 in Louisa, Lawrence County, Kentucky. Their children were:

  • Note from Teresa Eldridge Applegate: Martha Ann ELDRIDGE (Jessie Jess) was born 11 APR 1830 in Wise Co., VA. She died 22 APR 1915 with burial in Hensley Cemetery, Lawrence Co., KY. She married John Walton COTTON on 28 MAY 1848 in Lawrence Co., KY. He was the son of Jobe COTTON and m/UNKN. He was born abt. 1827 in Lee Co., VA and died in 1889 in Lawrence Co., KY. I have compiled info on this family to date. Have marriage application and license from Lawrence Co., KY. Martha Ann ELDRIDGE and John COTTON had 13 children to wit: John Walter Jr., Anna, Matilda, William, Martha Ann, Nancy Jane, Mary, James, Elizabeth, Teresa, Jesse Walter, Wallace, Franklin.
