Daniel was born in 1840. He was the son of Job Elletson and Fannie Unknown.

Daniel was a Civil War Veteran. 09 Feb 1862 • Minnesota, Enlisted as a private in Company H, Minnesota 5th Infantry Regiment. (The same Company as his brother, Francis M. Elletson and his brother in law, C.V. Warring)

29 Nov 1862 • St. Louis, Missouri, Mustered out. Received a disability discharge from Company H, 5th Infantry Regiment Minnesota.

He passed away in 1863. Burial: Gillford Cemetery, Oak Center, Wabasha County, Minnesota, USA. Plot: 25. [1]
