Biography
Mary Morris married Alfred Ellis in 1827, and as stated above, he and Mary had nine children with our ancestor James Thomas Ellis being born in 1832 in Teays Valley, Putnam County, Virginia (West Virginia.)
Based on the 1880 census, James Thomas Ellis went by his middle name. He was a farmer. He married Mary Meadings on 29 July 1852 in Putnam County. She was born in about 1835 to George Meadings and his wife Mary.
James Thomas Ellis and Mary Meadings had nine children. Our ancestor was Bradley Johnson Ellis, born in June 1864 in Teays Valley.
