Biography
Robert was born in 1561. He was possibly the son of Thomas Emerson and Joan Emerson.
He married Susan Crabbe in Saint Michaels, Bishops Stortford, Hertford, England in 1578.[1]
He was the father of six children Alice Emerson Margaret Emerson Thomas Emerson Anne Emerson Robert Emerson and John Emerson
He passed away in 1620. He was buried 6th January 1620

1. Thomas Emerson, b before 1540, resident of Great Dunmow, Essex, England, 7 miles from Bishop Stortford. Prob. son of Ralf of Foxton, who received the arms in 1535. These arms appear on the grave stone of Nathaniel Emerson (great-grandson of this Thomas) who was bap. at Bishops on July 18, 1630 and bur. in Ipswich, MA in 1712 -- thus connecting the family in America with Ralf of Foxton.
