John England is acknowledged as a patriot during the American Revolution for services rendered per North Carolina Revolutionary War Pay Vouchers #691, Roll #S.115.85. [1]

John England, born in County Donegal, Ireland, about 1730 - 1737. He was of Irish, Scotch, and English descent. He emigrated from Ireland to Wilmington, North Carolina about 1750 and settled on the Haw River. Later he moved presumably to Burke County, North Carolina. He served as a private in the Revolutionary War. He was a farmer and a Quaker. His participation in the Revolutionary War came in spite of his Quaker beliefs. John's will was signed in Burke County on 3/16/1775. His half-brother Daniel was named executor of his will. John died 3/16/1795 in Burke County, North Carolina.

The above information was compiled with coordination of several John England researchers. The biggest question I have is who was John's mother and was he the son who was brought with the first wife from Ireland? If anyone has additional information, I'd love to see what you have.
