Bacon's Rebellion

1676 --- PRISONERS

During the Bacon’s Rebellion, Colonel William Groves, one of the Bacon’s colonels, who had been taken prisoner, on December 25, 1676 ran from his guard. Thirty or forty men under Capt. Consent were sent after him. They found him and three rebel at Capt. Francis England’s house which they had captured. There Capt, Consent shot the colonel dead and brought away his horse and the three rebels and Capt. Francis England back to his ship the YOUNG PRINCE.
