Biography
There is not much information to be found about Elizabeth Ensor, the daughter of Thomas Ensor and Mary Talbott. She was born in Baltimore County, Maryland about 1780, but her birth does not appear in the Register of St. John's Parish. Her family moved to Washington County, North Carolina in 1787 (Washington County was eventually ceded to the new State of Tennessee in 1796).
She is thought to have married Jonathan Mulkey, Jr., between 1810-1815 in Washington or Hawkins County, but no marriage record has been located.
While the date of Elizabeth's death is unknown there was an Elizabeth Mulkey (as well as Matildy and Manervy, purported to be her daughters) who appeared among the members of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church, "last association 1835,"[1] This was the church were Elizabeth's father-in-law, Rev. Jonathan Mulkey preached.
