This is a codicil to my last will and testament of date twenty sixth day of January in the year of our Lord 1863 ... I devise that my children shall be educated and supported from the interest of all my property and on my youngest child Margaret Pitcairn FAIRBAIRN attaining the age of eighteen years or being previously married that any property shall be equally divided share and share alike between my wife Mary Fairbairn and my children Patrick Fairbairn John Houghton Fairibairn and Margaret Pitcairn Fairbairn and should my wife or any of my said children die before my daughter Margaret Pitcairn Fairbairn is married or attains the age of eighteen ....I hereby nominate and appoint my wife Mary FAIRBAIRN and my friend Walter TULLY of Illillawa Station near Hay (NSW) executrix and executor of this codicil.. signed 8 Sep 1874 ..
