It may be read that Margaret Farlow was born about 1703, probably in Pennsylvania, the daughter of John Farlow[1]. However, this is contradicted by another family genealogy which appears to be quoting husband William Harlan who stated "my wife was born the 1st day of the 9th month (November) 1703 and departed this life the 12th of the 6 mo 1767." This genealogy states Margaret was born in Ireland of unknown parents however that is not given as a direct quote of husband William.[2] It further states that at the time of marriage she was residing in Kennett Township.
She married William Harlan on 14 December 1721 in an Old Kenet Meeting by Ceremony of Friends.
She was the mother of Mary (Harlan) Moore, William Henry Harlan Jr., Jonathan Harlan, James Harlan, Alice Harlan, Sarah (Harlan) McMinn, Stephen Harlan Sr., George Harlan and Enoch Harlan.
Margaret (Farlow) Harlan died 12 Jun 1767 in West Marlborough, Chester, Pennsylvania, USA. Her grave is in Friend's Burying Ground, London Grove Meeting House, Pennsylvania, Colonial America.
Research Notes
The marriage record for Margaret and William gives his parentage but not hers. There does not appear to be a single Farlow witness signature on the marriage record.[3] The maiden name cannot be definitively read as Farlow. Is there another record to corroborate?

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Margaret by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Margaret:
Farlow-293 and Farlow-116 appear to represent the same person because: Same actuarial dates, geography; both represent the spouse of William Harlan, who also is duplicated.
