1940: Lanikai, Hawaii
Elizabeth Fehlman was born in Hawaii, on the Big Island. She lived there and in Berkeley, California. She married Fred K Cannon, while he was on leave, Christmas Eve 1941? They lived in Berkeley, California, while they raised 4 children. They later moved to San Rafael, Marin County, California. The house they lived in was a "Cabin" built before the Golden Gate Bridge as a summer home for the family, when the elder generation had lived in the East Bay.
Sometime in the 1940's(?) there was a Tsunami, and Elizabeth was out swimming with her friends about 2 miles from shore. She had been told that in the event of a Tidal Wave to dive and hold her breath for as long as possible before surfacing and she did.(--Not sure if this was the 1946 Tsunami)
