The 1861 census records Jessy in the household of her sister Charlotte at Stamford, Lincolnshire, with her age as 45 and her marital status as widowed. Children: Jessy, 14, born Chester; Ida J, 13, born Chester; Frances C, 8, born Northampton' Emily J,8, born Northampton.[12]
The 1871 census lists Jessy at Edinburgh, Scotland, age 55, widowed, born England. Children: Jessey, 24; Ida Sophia, 23; Frances C, 18.[13]
The 1881 census lists Jessy, age 65, widowed, at Hunshelf, Yorkshire.[14] The 1891 census lists her there, age 75, with her daughter Ida, 43, single.[15]
