William was born William George Ferguson on the 4th of October, 1779, in Londonderry, Contae Dhoire, Éire.[1][2][citation needed]
At about 8, on the 30th of July, 1787, his father William died, in Bovevagh, County Londonderry, Ireland.[citation needed]
At about 18, in about 1797, He married Letitia Hill in Limavady, Londonderry, Ireland, and they had seven children, including 10613John Hill Ferguson.[2][citation needed]
When he was 35, in 1805, Letitia died, in Londonderry, probably.[1][citation needed]
At 71, in 1842, he died, at Killyblight, Limavady, Londonderry, Ireland.[1][citation needed]
Re last name. No clear evidence as to whether it is "Ferguson" or "Fergusson"
