Robert Ferrers, Knt, 5th Lord Ferrers of Chartley, etc., was the son of John de Ferrers and Elizabeth, daughter of Ralph stafford.[1][2]
The Inquisition Post Mortem of Elizabeth, late the wife of Reynold de Cobham, knight, following a Writ of 15 September, 49 Edward III [1375][3] indicated that she had held lands jointly with John de Ferrers, formerly her husband. The heir was her son Robert de Ferrers, aged 17 or 18 years on 31 October last, suggesting he had been born on 31 Oct 1357 or 1358.
