Biography

John Fillmore was born about 1823[1] in New Brunswick. He was the son of Daniel Fillmore and Jane Unknown. John married Charlotte Sears. They moved to Maine, where their first three children were born. In 1850, they were living in Lubec, Maine, where John was working as a labourer. By 1855, John and Charlotte had moved back to New Brunswick, where their fourth daughter, Almira, and all of their subsequent children were born. They lived on a farm in Westmorland Parish, Westmorland County, New Brunswick next door to John's parents. In 1871, the four oldest children were living with their grandparents.
