Biography

Note: My father Frank Findley used to talk about the fact that his parents died when he was still young. Apparently Florry ran a "boarding house" back in that day. His father had predeceased his mother and she died a few years later. At that time, my father John Frank and his sister Dorella went to live with Florry's brother and his wife, Roland and Ethel Williams. They ran the local grocery story in Eight Mile, Alabama and took excellent care of the children from John and Florry. It was Roland's older brother, Oscar Williams, who owned the farm that was sold to the timber company and I believe that was where the graves were? I have memories of going up there as a child to a wonderful two story white frame home that was basically no longer used. I do remember it had an old antique piano and a kitchen table with a huge lazy susan built into the middle. [1]

John is buried in Williams Cemetery, Fruitdale, Washington County, Alabama
