Catherine Finney was born about 1736. Her father died when she was quite young, and her uncle Robert petitioned the orphan court on their behalf.[1]
She married James Laughead in 1758,[2] and had several children. She passed away after 1796.
Pennsylvania patriot James Loughead's wife was Catherine Finney. Their daughter Agnes married Andrew Forsyth; their son Thomas married Mary M Trautwine. [3]

However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Catherine:
It was great to discover Catherine and James have profiles! I've now connected them to Robert with good documentation. I'm unsure about the parents of Catherine. The Compendium of American Genealogy, Vol. VI claims her parents were Robert and Catherine Fleming of Holland (ancestry.com - possibly in error). But, without more sources, it's possible the parents, orphaned background, and middle name of Catherine may be from a different Catherine Finney. One death source points to a Catherine Finney, who died in Pittsburg, the wife of Peter Finney, calling her by her married name (not Catherine Loughead, as she would have been called at her death). For this reason, I believe her birth and death dates are unknown.
