1278 The Premonstratensian monastery of Enkenbach sells the patronage of Freinsheim to the bishopric of Worms.
For the first time "Freinsheim" appears in a document with the present-day spelling
1340 The inhabitants of Freinsheim are wealthy enough, to free themselves from drudgery by paying money to the local knights
Fortification wall: built between approx. 1350 and 1514, the length of the wall is approx. 1300 meters, it includes the medieval town
1471 During the 15th century until 1471 the sovereign (ruler) of the Kurpfalz has got mightier and gradually bought Freinsheim part by part. Freinsheim also gets the town rights at that time
1525 The inhabitants of Freinsheim participate in the battle of Pfeddersheim, they support the revolting peasants and lose their charter after the victory of Elector Ludwig V.
1665 Troops of the Elector of Mainz set fire to Freinsheim. 65 houses with their outbuildings fall victim to the flames.
1686 A letter to the government mentions the following assets of the town: Achurch, a chapel, a fortification wall with towers, 170 footbridges, a village mill at Erpolzheim, a forge, a shepherds house, brickworks, bakeries.
1689 War of Orlâeans (war between German and French)
Freinsheim was completely burned down by French troops, only the fortification wall and the shell of the church remained standing
1705 Freinsheim was the location of the community association, it managed ten villages. The title in German: "Unteramtsstadt"
1723 - 1743 Now in German Freinsheim was titled "Oberamtsstadt", it managed almost 40 villages
1750 The baroque town hall is built
1792 / 93 The Palatinate was occupied by French revolutionary army. The civil servants of the "Kurpfalz" stop working.
1801 The area west of the Rhine became French territory by the Peace of Lunâeville
1816 - 1945 Freinsheim belonged to Bavaria
1873 Freinsheim got a railway station
since 1945 Freinsheim belongs to Rheinland-Pfalz
since 1972 Freinsheim is location of the community association, which includes Freinsheim and 7 wine growing villages with approx. 16500 inhabitants
