Biography

His death record indicates that he died of chronic valvular heart disease. It gives his wife's name as Lenora; however, Lovell says he married Matilda Unknown and had two children, Elmer S. (b. Mar 1870) and Lorinda (b. ca. 1877)^[1][2]

Research Notes

• In the 1860 Census, Elisha and his siblings were mistranscribed with the last name of Housier. Their parents are listed on the previous page of the census, and there is an 8-year-old Mary Housier who is listed at the bottom of that page with an asterisk. The Fiscus children follow this entry on the next page with ditto marks that make it look like their name should be the same as the last person on the previous page.^[3]
