Norman Elba 'Jake' Fish was born in 1899 on Auburn, Maine, the son of George Fish and Sarah Soper.
He married twice:
Bertha F Roberts married 30 August 1924. They were the parents of one child, daughter Dorothy Fish b. 1926, d. 1927.
Beryl A Austin former wife of Howard Robinson; married in Maine on 14 June 1930. He adopted her son, Donald Lawrence Robinson Fish. They had another son, Norman Elba Fish, Jr., known as "Elba".
His WWI draft registration described him as being of medium height (about 5'7"), slender build, with gray eyes and light brown hair. He was working at the time as a wood turner at Belcher and Taylor Co, Chicopee, Massachusetts.
He worked as a supervisor at Bass Shoe Company, and they lived in Jay, Maine near the Wilton town line. He passed away of cancer in Jay, Maine 1978 and was buried at Lakeview Cemetery, Wilton. A quiet man with a wonderful laugh, he would enjoy relaxing in his recliner, shared with his dogs, smoking a pipe.
