Biography

Sophia Lovina / Louvinia Fisher was born in June of 1841 to parents Jacob Fisher and Christiana Miller in Rowan, North Carolina. [1]
Sophia married George M. Bost (written / transcribed as 'Bostain' on one marriage record but I believe this occurred because the wedding was logged underneath two separate weddings with that same surname) July 11, 1861 in Rowan, North Carolina, United States. [2] Sadly, George died just over 2 years after their marriage[3] and it appeared the couple had no children together.
However, when looking at the 1880 Census for Sophia L. and her next husband Alexander, there is a "stepdaughter" listed for Alexander; Sarah M. Bost. Her estimated birth year is 1864 which would be right around the time her father would have died.[4] °°Update- I located the 1870 Federal Census for this family[5]and Sarah appears at 7 years old (estimated birth year 1863; still consistent) but two more older "Bost" children are listed and all three have the distinct letters "AM" between proper and surnames.Becky Elizabeth
After nearly three years Sophia was married a second time in Rowan County to Alexander Holshouser[6] on March 9, 1866.[7]
Together Sophia and Alexander had six known children:
  1. Harvey Addison (1867 - 1934)
  2. Lottie Camille (1869 - 1911)
  3. Minnie Sophira (1871 - 1949)
  4. Pleasant Columbus (1
  5. Lillie Rosanna (1

Sophia passed away in 1902 and was buried at Lyerly Evangelical Church Cemetery in Rockwell, Rowan County, North Carolina. [8]
