Virginia E Fisher was born on 18 Oct 1840 to parents John F Fisher and Martha Fontaine Henry. DNA for a descendant has confirmed she is the great-great-granddaughter of Patrick Henry as she stated, and the Barnes Journal belonging to Edra Beebe, transcribed at Red Hill by Edith Poindexter on 19 Oct 2002, listed here as a source, is the first paper documentation I have seen. She married James W King in 1860 in Oklahoma. Children: Olive Ann, John Franklin, and Clara B. She died on 1 Sep 1924 in Logan, Oklahoma.
From grandson Warren Crookham: "Virginia King was a God-chosen life mate for James, and James was never disappointed in her. She was 5'6" tall and weighed about 120 lbs. She had a nice head of hair. When she let it down at evening to brush it, as she stood erect six inches would be laying out on the floor. She was a beautiful woman in every way and very talented. An ideal wife and mother, a wonderful cook, spinner and weaver, and a marvel at sewing and designing clothes for men and women. She was a first-class herbalist and maker of medicines. She supplied medicines and ointments for three counties. As a nurse she could not be beat. She was a fine musician, had a lovely alto voice, and she could hold an audience spell-bound with stories for hours, as indeed could James. They were a blessing to all the pioneers coming into Kansas as their place was right on the main trail."
