William was the son of Geoffrey (Richard) and Alice Dalling Fiske; he was born ca 1506 in Laxfield, Suffolk, England. He was buried at St. Michael, South ELmham, Suffolk on 6 Jan 1578/9.[1]
He was taxed in Laxfield in 1545 and 1546; by 1567-68 he had moved ten miles to South Elmham, Suffolk.[1]
"William, of the parish of St. Michael's of South Elmham [co. Suffolk], wheelwright, the testator of 10 Oct. 1575 (Will No. 38), b. about 1525; d. between 2 Jan. 1578/9, when he added a codicil to his will, and 30 Jan. 1578/9, when his will was proved; m. ----, who probably d. before 10 Oct. 1575, as she was not mentioned in his will." In his will he bequeathed to his daughter Gelyon Aldus a feather bed, etc; to his daughter Margaret Bancroft 40s.; and to his daughter Agnes Borowghe a milch cow and 20s.; and he made his daughter Mary his residuary legate and executrix. In the codicil he bequeathed 20d. 'to every grandchild of mine,' and to 'borowghes children' 40d. each. Robert Fiske and William Fiske were two of the witnesses to the will, and Robert Fiske and Geoffrey Fiske were two of the witnesses to the codicil.[2]
