Thomas FitzAlan, 10th/17th Earl of Arundel was born circa 1450. He was the son of William Fitzalan, 9th/16th Earl of Arundel and Lady Joan Neville. He married Lady Margaret Woodville, daughter of Richard Wydevill, 1st Earl Rivers and Jacquetta de Luxembourg, in October 1464. He died on 25 October 1524 at Downly Park, Singleton, Sussex, England. He was buried at Arundel Castle, Arundel, Sussex, England.
He was also known as Thomas Mautravers and Thomas Arundell. He was invested as a Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) on 27 June 1461. He was invested as a Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) on 26 February 1473/74.
He succeeded his father as 17th Earl of Arundel c. 1487.
