FATALITY AT RACECOURSE
On Wednesday afternoon last Mr. Victor Flanagan, of Loder-street, Quirindi, was exercising a racehorse and giving it barrier practice on the local racecourse when the animal fell.
The rider struck his head with great force on the ground, and was rendered unconscious.
Mr. P. Wells, of George-street, who is training horses locally, was with Flanagan at the time.
The local ambulance was summoned and conveyed Flanagan to the hospital, where he was admitted.
It was found that the unfortunate rider had received a fracture to the base of the skull, besides suffering from shock.
Skilled medical attention proved of no avail, and the patient failed to rally, death taking place on Wednesday afternoon.
Deceased, who was a married man— his wife is a daughter of Mr. S. Saunders, a member of an old and respected Kars Springs family — was employed on the outdoor telephone staff. — Quirindi 'Advocate.'

Hi Amanda ,

yes they do appear to be same person just Death date on Flanagan -10 is wrong ,see NSW BDM 5398/1946 not 1948, as stated in Biography when he was killed in Racetrack Accident .

Flannagan-10 and Flanagan-4062 appear to represent the same person because: same details
