Lindsay was born George Lindsay Fleming on the 19th of November, 1928[1] in Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand,[2] the 2nd of 2 sons of Robert Fleming and Clara Hyslop.[citation needed]
At 22, on the 26th of December, 1950, he married Shirley May Matthews in Oamaru, Otago, New Zealand. and they adopted 3 children.[2]
At 29, on the 4th of November, 1958, his father Robert died, in Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand, at 72.
At 31, on the 29th of November, 1959, his mother Clara died, in Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand, at 64.
At 44, in 1972, he and Shirley were living at 30 Braemar Street, Mosgiel, Otago.[3]
At 65, on the 3rd of December, 1993, he died under an operation at Dunedin Public Hospital, Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand,[2], and was buried in the East Taieri Cemetery, Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand, Block Ash Plot 186.[1]
