John Fleming was born at Indented Head, Victoria on 22 May 1862[1] He was the son of John Fleming and Lillias Corbett.[2]
John was married to Agnes (Annie) Knorr on Wednesday 2nd August 1899 at 152 Victoria St, Richmond by Samuel Fraser (Presbyterian minister at Terang). John was 37, lived at Noorat and was a labourer at the time, and Annie was 35, lived at Talbot, with her profession listed as Domestic duties. The certificate was witnessed by Henry Knorr and George Fleming.[3]
John and Annie had three children - Trina, Jack and Bess.
John died 8 June 1945, aged 83, and was buried in the Greensborough cemetery.[4][5]
