In 1749, when he was in his mid-twenties, he married Elizabeth Winston, (b 17 DEC 1734 Hanover Co VA d. ABT 1772 at Beaverdam, Hanover County) in Hanover County. She bore him eleven children, six sons and five daughters:
“Civil War Experiences of the Family of William Winston Fontaine, with Details of His Fontaine Ancestry Back to the Reverend Peter Fontaine.”
William Winston Fontaine mentions his father, William Spotswood Fontaine and his brother Charles Fontaine. He then provides many details on his line of ancestry, beginning with the Reverend Peter Fontaine, thru Peter’s son Colonel Peter Fontaine (1721-177?) of “Rock Castle” in Hanover County and his wife Elizabeth Winston, and his son Colonel John Fontaine (1750-1792) and his wife Martha Henry, daughter of Patrick Henry[2]
Fontaine Wiatt imported the data for Peter Fontaine Jr. from Tribal Pages 0004.ged on 25 Mar 2011.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Peter by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Peter:
Fontaine-1156 and Fontaine-86 appear to represent the same person because: virtually same name, same spouse, similar birth and death info. Please merge.
Fountaine-41 and Fontaine-86 appear to represent the same person because: Same person and family - problems with Fountaine-41 are getting corrected as he was linked as spouse of his mother and other problems. He needs to merge with Fountaine-86 and go away. His data is unreliable so just keep current data for Fontaine-6 and make Fountaine-41 disappear.
As for Susan Ring attached to #41 - will be dealing with her next so leave her attached till resolved if she belongs or is another error.
Fountain-863 and Fontaine-86 appear to represent the same person because: They are the same person, even though there is an e on the end of one. Have thoroughly investigated and satisfied that they are one person.
As for Susan Ring attached to #41 - will be dealing with her next so leave her attached till resolved if she belongs or is another error.
