18 Apr 1771 - William Fortson & Milly his wife of Spotslvaniia to William Chiles of same. 40 pounds. 200 acres in Spotsylvania, being PART of a tract devised sd Fortson by Michael Guiney dec'd. Wit: Richd Vernon, John White.

Spotsylvania - 2 Feb 1790 - Elizabeth Johnston, relict of Aquilla Johnston, decd., late of Spts. Co., "to my two sons, Wm. Fortson & Thomas Fortson." Deed of Gift. Slaves, goods & chattels. Deed Delivered John Fortson, son of Wm. Fortson

1 Feb 1790 - Wm. Fortson of Spts. Co. to his daughter Ann and her husband, Littleton Estes. Deed of Gift. Slave, goods and chattels. Ed. Note.-This deed is also signed by Mildred x Fortson, presumably wife of sd. Wm. Fortson.
