Frederikke Frandsen, known as "Freda", was born on 4 April 1869 in Høver, Storring, Århus, Denmark. She was the daughter of Soren Frandsen and Mette Jensdatter.[1]
She lived with her parents and family in Storring for the census of 1870[2], 1880[3] and 1890.[4]
Frederikke left Denmark in 1890 and emigrated to New York City in the United States, aboard the "Lahn", arriving on 3 May 1890.[6] Her occupation was recorded as "seamstress". In the United States, Frederikke was known as "Freda".
Frederikke returned home to Denmark and gave birth to a son, Franklin Samuel Benjamin Frandsen in 1892, citing the father's name as "Franklin". Her son lived less than two months and she returned to the United States.
In 1900, the family were living in Richmond, New York.[10]
Freda's husband, John, died in 1904 and Freda also died on 1 June 1907 in Richmond, New York.[11] It is uncertain who raised the children but several went to live with other family members.
