Grace was the daughter of William Frankland[1][2] and Arabella Belasye.[3] She was baptised on 24 March 1667 (Clay's edition of Dugdale's Visitation gives the year as 1666:[4] the parish register image on FindMysearch shows it was 1666/7) at Thirkleby, Yorkshire.[5][6]
Leonard, their eldest son,[10][11][12] born on 7 February 1683/4 and baptised at Thirkleby, Yorkshire on 11 February 1683/4[13][14]
Arabella, baptised at Kirkby Fleetham, Yorkshire on 13 February 1685/6[15][16]
Anne, baptised at Thirkleby, Yorkshire on 31 December 1687[17][18]
William, baptised at Kirkby Fleetham, Yorkshire on 10 January 1690/1,[19][20] and buried there on 11 September 1755[21] with a memorial inscription giving his age at death as 66[22]
John, baptised at Kirkby Fleetham, Yorkshire on 20 October 1691[23]
Grace, baptised at Kirkby Fleetham, Yorkshire on 4 December 1692[24]
Elizabeth,[25] baptised at Kirkby Fleetham, Yorkshire on 6 January 1695/6,[26][27][28] who married Cornelius Cayley[29]
Death and Will
Grace was buried at St Maurice's, York, Yorkshire on 5 December 1729.[30][31]
Her will, dated 18 June 1726, was proved on 4 July 1730. A deposition made for probate purposes says that her death date was on or about 2 December 1730. In the will, among other provisions, she:[32]
named her eldest son Leonard, her son William, her daughter Ann Smelt and her daughter Elizabeth Cayley
named her granddaughter Luce[?} Wright
appointed her son William as executor
