Biography

Deborah Freer was born on December 27, 1724, in Kingston, New York to Simon Freer and Marritje Van Bommel (aka Wamboom). She married Pieter/Petrus LeRoy in 1741 in Poughkeepsie, New York. They had three known children. She died on November 30, 1800, in Poughkeepsie, New York, having lived a long life of 75 years.

Excerpt from Early New Netherlands Settlers

Deborah (Simon) Freer LeRoy, who was born December 1724 at Kingston, Ulster County, New York and was baptized at Reformed Dutch Church, Kingston, Ulster County, New York.
She married about 1744 at Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York Pieter (Francois) LeRoy, who was born January 1722 at Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York and was baptized at Reformed Dutch Church, Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York, a son of Francois (Frans) (Simeon) LeRoy Captain and Celitje (Jan) Damen LeRoy.
Baptized on 27 December 1724. Religion 1 - - Reformed Dutch Church, Kingston, Ulster County, New York. First Residence - - Kingston, Ulster County, New York."[1]

  1. Francis LeRoy, who was born February 1745 and married Sara (Hendrick) Hegeman LeRoy.
  2. Celitje LeRoy Lewis (Rn=28794), who was born 12 October 1751 and married Leonard (Barent) Lewis.
  3. Annatje LeRoy was born 1769.

Freer-258 and Freer-17 appear to represent the same person because: This is the same person; the only difference being a variation of spellings of the Deborah/Debora. She is the daughter of Simon Freer and Marritje VanBommell(aka Wamboom) and married Pieter LeRoy.
