Biography

Birth

According to the 1898 census, Lizzie was born about 1873/1874. However, her grave stone gives a date of 1884. (Find a Grave) The "1884" must be a misreading of "1874", otherwise she would have married Abner when she was ten years old.

Name

Her birth order name was given in the 1898 census as We-hun-kaw, which is for Wīhą́gā, "Second Daughter."

Death

Her grave lies next to her husband, Abner St. Cyr, Sr., but under the more formal name "Elizabeth St. Cyr." She died in 1947, and is buried in Saint Augustine Mission Cemetery, Winnebago, Thurston County, Nebraska, USA.
