DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Joseph by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Joseph:

I have a question about this Joseph Friend. I'm also directly related to a Joseph Friend. Mine married in North Carolina and the couple had several of their children there. They moved to Kentucky where he purchased land, (I have a record source for this) and from Kentucky, they moved on up to Illinois. Is there any information regarding this Joseph's moving about? If not, and besides the fact the wife's name is different, then this one isn't mine. Some in my Friend family line insist this Joseph is ours. Any help in sorting it out would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I don't have any record showing this Joseph as having moved around like that. S.

Thank you for your response. I am going to rule this one out as mine, then. :) You've been a big help.
