Biography

When Mary Harriett Fulcher was baptised her father was named as a shipwright. The entry says they were from Northey Street Name: Mary Harriet Fulcher Year of Registration: 1864 Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar District: Stepney County: Greater London, London, Middlesex Volume: 1c Page: 539

1881 was a servent working with Jane Payne at Brighton. Jane was 69 born at Chatham. (A great Aunt?)

1891 Mary, Lydia A, and Charles H Fulcher were all working as servants for the Hassant Family at The Garratt Willows, Wimbledon, Surrey, as domestic cook, female domestic and gardener respectively.

1895 Mary Harriett Fulcher , aged 28, married in the Parish church after Banns, Thomas Henry Beal a bricklayer, he was aged 23 son of John Boniface Beal a blacksmith. Mary Harriett Fulcher was daughter of Henry Fulcher, deceased, shipwright. Witnesses for the marriage were C. J. Sewell, and Mary's sisters L. A. Fulcher and A. Fulcher.

1901 census has them at Pevensey, Sussex, England here her birth year is given as 1866, but still Limehouse. They are in King's Cottages next to the Police Station, Thomas is 29 and a bricklayer worker, he was born at Pevensey. No trade given for Mary H.

They are still here in 1911, still no children, her sister Lydia's son Alfred Henry Symmonds is living with them.

1939 they are at 1 Kings Cottage, Hailsham, Sussex, England, Thomas is a retired chimney sweep there are two other people with them, but still living as their records officially closed, these could possibly be Alfred and Grace Symmonds children as they are not with their parents?

At number 2 Kings Cottage are Yearly and Lydia Symmonds and Alice Evans
