Declaration of Elizabeth (Fuller) Bigelow dated 6 Jan 1834 in Steuben County, New York swore to the service of Hopestill Bigelow in the Revolution, swore that she is the wife of Samuel Bigelow, son of Hopestill Bigelow, that she was born 20 Mar 1765, that her father was Aaron Fuller, that when she was 5 or 6 and residing in Skenesborough, Hopestill Bigelow moved into the place about 3/4 miles from deponent, that she married Samuel Bigelow at Skenesborough, and that her father, Aaron Fuller, was in charge of the military stores at Skenesborough.
An Aaron Fuller (whether this one or his father) entered into a lease with Philip Skene on March 25, 1768 for 111 acres along the east bank of Skenesborough Creek. The tract was known as Canaan. Annual rent, after the expiration of three years, was one shilling New York currency per acre plus one pound of merchantable "three" and half dozen spun yarn or four shillings in lieu thereof. Indictment in Washington County Superior Court records from 1787, the People v. Aaron Fuller Esq., "Aaron Fuller Esquire one of the Justices of the Peace for the said County being person neglectful of the Duties of his Office as ... and set forth in his Commission and the Law...and contriving and maliciously intending to ...and misuses the power and authority to him...and under Colours of his Office, to disturb and imprison the good people of the said County did on [January 17, 1787] and at diverse times afterwards...give direction and general permission to a certain Isiah Bennett[sp?] ... to issue Warrants in the of him the said Aaron Fuller against any person or persons at the suit and request of any person or persons applying for same....have illegally disturbed arrested and imprisoned to the great abuse and ....of the public Justice to the evil Example of all others in like cases...and against the peace of the people of the State of New York and their Dignity.-- Witness The Defendants own Confession."
