Biography

Judah "Deacon" Fuller was born at his parents' home in Bolton, Tolland County, Connecticut Colony, New England on 3 February 1765. He was the son of Lot Fuller (1733-1811) and Rachel (Webster) Fuller (1737-1812). [1]

Joshua Fuller had 2 marriages and 6 known children. It's assumed his 2 wives were sisters, due to their common maiden name, but they might have been cousins. Joshua first married Lois (or Louisa) Hastings, b: 1771 in Connecticut, on 20 July 1787 in Tolland, Connecticut. No marriage record has been found. They had one son: Judah Lyman Fuller (1788-1835) on 24 September 1788 in Sandisfield, Berkshire County, Massachusetts, USA. Then, alas, Louisa (Hastings) Fuller died at 20 years old on 19 February 1791, at her home in Sandisfield, Massachusetts, possibly in childbirth, the major cause of death for young women at that time. No child survived. She was buried at the Sandisfield Center Cemetery, Sandisfield, Berkshire County, Massachusetts, USA. [2]

Joshua Fuller remarried to Sarah Hastings, born 25 February 1763 in Suffield, Hartford, Connecticut; she was either the older unmarried sister of Lois Hastings or a cousin. They married in 1792 most-likely in Berkshire County, Massachusetts, but no marriage record has been found. Judah & Sarah (Hastings) Fuller had 5 known children together. All were born in Sandisfield, Berkshire, Massachusetts:

  1. Joseph Hastings Fuller, 1794–1879
  2. Sarah Fuller, 1795–1812
  3. Hanna Catchum Fuller, 1796–Deceased
  4. John Harvey Fuller, 1797–1881
  5. David Fuller, 1800–1855

Deacon Judah Fuller passed away at his home in Sandisfield, Berkshire, Massachusetts, USA, on 14 October 1819. He was 54 years old. Judah was buried at the Sandisfield Center Cemetery, Sandisfield, Berkshire County, Massachusetts, USA. [3] His wife, Sarah (Hastings) Fuller survived his passing for several more years. She died in Sandisfield on 10 May 1848 at 85 years old and was buried next to her late husband at the Sandisfield Center Cemetery, Sandisfield, Berkshire County, Massachusetts, USA. [4]
