Research Notes

  • In the 1860 census, George and Sarah were living with their daughter Sophia Gable (age 35) and a boy named Harrison Gable, age 9. Some researchers have labeled Harrison as their son. However given George's age of 69 and, more importantly, Sarah's age as 67, it is highly unlikely that Harrison is their son. Perhaps he was Sophia's son. This needs more research.[3]
  • After he died, Sarah applied for his War of 1812 military pension. But she was turned down because they could not find a record of his service.[5]
